“Identity is at the center of my work. In “Venus-John-Stein” you know two of the three hyphenated identities,  Venus and Frankenstein. The middle one is the "Chippendale" building by Phillip Johnson.  There's a Hawaiian term "hapa" meaning half or part;  identifying mixed race or multi-ethnic. Our future is a new mix.”
