The Hands Project, 1988

Spray paint stenciled hands on 5' x 8' plywood board
Proposal for the Detroit People Mover.

This was Proposal for the Detroit People Mover, called the Hands Project; by the PrintMedia department  of Cranbrook Academy of Art.  Since the 1960's Detroit was very near hopelessness from a suffocating economic tailspin, years of racial turmoil, riots, staggering crime and a paralyzing drug problem. The People Mover was a 1987 initiative to bring people back into the city of Detroit; although critics called the 2.94 mile circuit a trip to nowhere.

The proposal was to spray paint stenciled hands on the large boarded windows.  Unfortunately, this proposal was non-funded.
