City Boy, 1984

Woodcut, screen print on paper. 96” x 96”

Cranbrook Academy of Art

“City Boy” was my first woodcut of scale, engaging an  intermedia approach and combining screenprint.  As an artist-in- residence and department head, I felt that it was imperative to push the self imposed limits of intaglio, lithography, screen print and relief. We changed the name Printmaking to PrintMedia and broke down the barriers of definition and limitation.
